Slowest Recovery in Consumer Spending for 200 Years
21/06/2011

Research by The Financial Times has indicated that Great Britain will endure the slowest pick up in consumer spending in any post recession period over the past two centuries.
It is forecast that in 2015 UK households will be spending just 5.4% more than they were in 2008, this compares to 20% seven years after the 1980s recession and 15% seven years after the 1990s recession.
According to the Bank of England consumer spending is currently 4% below the 2008 level and it will be 2013 before it matches levels seen before the credit crisis.
Homeowners aged over 55 years who are finding it difficult to cope in the current climate and would like to know how much money the value of their property could release to increase their income, can find out by contacting therightequityrelease.co.uk for equity release advice.
