Record Numbers of Over 65s Are Still Working
28/06/2011

It was recently reported in the national press that 20% of individuals in Great Britain are not putting any income aside for a pension. The report, conducted by Scottish Widows, stated that 49% of working individuals that are able to contribute towards a pension are not preparing financially for their retirement.
The State pension, which is currently one of the lowest in Europe, is only worth just over £100 per week. As a result many individuals in the UK will be forced to carry on working once the retirement age is reached.
Official figures show record numbers of people who are 65 or above are working, with numbers increasingly rapidly every year.
Homeowners aged over 55 years who are unable to save and would like to know how much money the value of their property could release to increase their income, can find out by contacting therightequityrelease.co.uk for equity release advice.
