Only 1 in 7 Has a Company Pension
08/07/2011

Only 3.3 million, 14 per cent of the total private sector workforce of 23.1million, are in a company pension scheme, meaning the number of private sector workers with a company pension has fallen to its lowest level since the fifties.
It was reported in the national press that the proportion of workers in the private sector with a defined pension scheme has dropped to 11%. Given that we are an aging society, concerns have been raised by the National Association of Pension Funds, that huge problems may be ahead of us, given that company pension schemes are not being offered or taken up in the workplace. Individuals who rely on a state pension may face a shock as retirement approaches.
Homeowners aged over 55 years who are worried about their pension and would like to know how much money the value of their property could release to increase their income, can find out by contacting therightequityrelease.co.uk for equity release advice.
