Might Parents Support University Education Through Equity Release
22/07/2010

A report from Sainsbury’s Finance revealed that people took out loans worth £37 million to help pay for education over the past 12 months. It has since been claimed that cutbacks in funding for education has resulted in many students paying for items they would not have done previously.
Head of policy at the University and College Union, Paul Cottrell, explained that students have been required to pay for things like field trips which used to be included in course fees. He said: "That tends to be compounded further by the difficulty of students trying to get part time work these days because of the recession; the competition for jobs is higher so they don’t even have a small income to support their living costs."
Homeowners aged over 55 years who would like to know how much money the value of their property could release to help support their children’s’ university education can find out by contacting therightequityrelease.co.uk for equity release advice.
