According to a new report the total value of privately owned housing in the UK has more than doubled in the last decade,
Recently-released figures from the Halifax have revealed that the value of UK housing has increased by more than £2,000 billion since 1999.
According to the report, UK housing was worth £1,719 billion in 1999 and was worth £3,755 billion in 2009.
The improvement in house prices in 2009 saw housing value grow by an estimated 2% during the year.
