Green Energy Policies Might Cost Households £300 a Year
18/03/2011

By 2020 it is anticipated that the cost of climate change policies will cost households £300 a year. Currently the Government are adding £84 a year to people's energy bills to finance 'green' projects such as the eco friendly light bulbs that were introduced in 2008.
Head of energy at Consumer Focus, has aired her views by publicly suggesting that there ought to be some transparency over how public money is being used on these green projects. She said that many of the 300 million light bulbs that were produced in 2008 are likely to be sitting in people's drawers or else on rubbish dumps. This money could have been spent more wisely on insulation and heating measures.
Homeowners aged over 55 years who are worried about the increasing cost of ‘green' measures and would like to know how much money the value of their property could release to help, can find out by contacting therightequityrelease.co.uk for equity release advice.
