Gas and Electricity Prices Expected to Increase By 15 Percent
19/05/2011

It has been recently reported that gas and electricity prices are expected to rise by up to 15% this year. The first round of price increases is anticipated to be up to 5%, with a further increase anticipated by the end of the year.
This increase in price follows the continued instability in the Middle East and North Africa, the Japanese nuclear catastrophe and surging demand from the booming economies of China and India.
Atypical household can expect to pay £172.50 extra per year if this increase is implemented.
This inflationary pressure is affecting the Big Six suppliers; British Gas, npower, Scottish & Southern Energy, EDF, ScottishPower and Eon, which have been scrapping their best tariffs and replacing them with more expensive ones.
Homeowners aged over 55 years who are concerned about heating costs and would like to know how much money the value of their property could release to increase their income, can find out by contacting therightequityrelease.co.uk for equity release advice.
