Equity Release Might Overcome Uncertainties
21/12/2010

Uncertainties about private sector pensions might mean many approaching retirement may consider equity release. According to recent figures from Saga a third of over 50s have not bothered with pensions, while a considerable number of others are still struggling with other debts.
Dr Ros Altmann, the firm's director-general, explained that for many workers saving into a pension scheme is not worthwhile.
She noted that radical reform of the pension system is essential, to ensure that private pensions deliver extra income for retirees and in particular criticised the lack of action to address the problems with the current market.
This might mean many of those approaching retirement will consider equity release. If you are one of these and a homeowner aged over 55 years who is looking to increase your retirement income and would like to know how much money the value of their property could release to help, can find out by contacting therightequityrelease.co.uk for equity release advice.
