Saga Personal Finance has found that 15 per cent of people aged 50 years and over were struggling to find adequate finances to carry out home repairs. In this group women were the worst hit and were forced to let their homes deteriorate.
The main concern of 16 per cent of those surveyed was roofing, with some13 per cent worried about the state of their drainage.
