13/10/2010

A new report says more of the over 50 years have been out of work for a significant period in the UK than at any point over the last ten years.
National charity Age UK’s recently-released figures show that 170,000 aged over 50 years have now been unemployed for longer than 12 months. The organisation said this represents a 52 per cent increase on the number reported last year and the highest level recorded since 1997,
Michelle Mitchell, Age UK charity director confirmed that the current levels of unemployment in the over-50's is at it's highest in over ten years. If this remains then the government's plans to extend the age of retirment are much more likely to continue.
Homeowners aged over 55 years who are unemployed and would like to know how much money the value of their property could release to help them through this period, can find out by contacting therightequityrelease.co.uk for equity release advice.
