Energy providers confirm price freeze

British Gas, NPower and Scottish Power have said that they will not raise energy prices for some customers until after the winter. British Gas has said it will not to raise its prices for its customers on variable rate tariffs until April next year.
Customers on npower’s standard residential tariff have will also have prices held until March next year.
The price of standard gas and electricity at Scottish Power will be frozen for its customers until April next year.
Following on from British Gas and Scottish and Southern Energy, NPower said it would also end doorstep selling.
