Council tax freeze to ease burden on households
25/11/2011

It has been announced that Council tax will be frozen once again this year in the hope of easing the financial strain on households. This will cost the Government £800m to implement but could save a family up to £72 next year.
This is the second year such a price freeze has been put in place. Council tax will not be increased until at least April 2013. The funding of this price freeze will be provided from ‘underspends’ in Whitehall.
The Government has been under pressure to complement austerity measures with a coherent strategy for growth and measures to put cash in the pockets of hardworking families.
Homeowners aged over 55 years who are concerned about their household budgets and would like to know how much money the value of their property could release to increase their income, can find out by contacting therightequityrelease.co.uk for equity release advice.
