Are State Pension Age Changes Unfair to Women
09/06/2011

In a recent article published by a national newspaper it was reported that the Government plans to accelerate a women's age to retire to 66 years. This is likely to impact up to 500,000 women currently in their 50s.
This announcement is seen to be unfair as it puts pressure on the ladies in the fifties who will now have to adjust their retirement plans, at short notice, to extend their working life by one or two years. Saga reported that a one year change to retirement age should be announced ten years in advance, if individuals are going to have time to adjust. This two year extension announcement comes with just six or seven years notice.
Homeowners aged over 55 years who are worried about their pension and would like to know how much money the value of their property could release to increase their income, can find out by contacting therightequityrelease.co.uk for equity release advice.
